Scottish SPCA

Since 1839, the Scottish SPCA has been dedicated to rescuing domestic, farmed and wild animals across Scotland, in every community, every single day. We lead efforts to improve animal welfare and strengthen laws, and partner with other organisations to protect homes and habitats.
 
Animals and people need us now more than ever, and in different ways than before. Our frontline teams are facing more complex cases and larger uplifts. Where possible, every effort is made to support caring owners to keep their animals. However, if necessary, with our unique enforcement powers, our Inspectors will intervene to relieve suffering and bring those responsible for animal welfare crime to justice. 
 
Animals in crisis are brought to one of our Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centres or our Wildlife Centre, and wherever possible, they will be rehabilitated by our expert teams. The aim is always to release wildlife back into their natural environment and to find domestic and farmed animals new homes. 
 
We do all of this without any government funding, making regular gifts our lifeblood and a vital part of our rescue efforts. It’s our mission to make Scotland the best place for an animal to call home and you can help make that a reality.
